Birthday? Why do we get to celebrate birthday? Why did I get into this mode of expecting things from others on my birthday? Why did I fall into the hype that people created for me?
Did you ever had a birthday that you wished never happened? Did you have a birthday where instead of getting presents all you got were scoldings, accusations and negligence? Did your birthday ever start with a complain that you didnt act civil in the party? In your own birthday party? Ok fine, it starts that way, with a great one hour of precious 24 hrs in that. Then you venture into a bright day hoping things would get better. Just then comes the next blow. My so called girl friend decides to break up with me because I am not sensitive to her. All because I dont like her craziness for Harry Potter. Tell me who on earth will be happy if on his birthday his girl friend reads Harry Potter for two hours instead of spending time with him? Lets assume that I understand that she really likes the book. Then she starts by saying that she doesnt want to attend the party in the evening?
How am I supposed to take that? Why shouldnt she attend the party? What did I do to deserve this on my birthday? Am I such a bad guy? Am I totally off the road? What did I do? Well, after some persuasion things get better and she decides to come along. We go for a party and have some good time.
After all this, we come home at 1am and guess what she does? After a full day effort from my side to keep her happy (mind you, its still my birthday, just that I still have to make her happy), she decides to read Harry Potter at night. I really dont understand it. Is this how people are? Am I worth only this much? Am I not even worth having a full day with her on even my birthday? I cannot take this. I am not at all happy. Anyone in this world would like to see a person happy atleast on their birthday. Today is my most memorable birthday, I will remember it as the day I cried the most (may be next to the first birthday). Thanks to someone near and dear for all this. I know exactly how I feel. I just hope none in this world has a similar experience for its not bearable especially on your birthday.
